Steering Wheel: Inspection

Check the resistance of paddle switch.

Step Check Yes No
1 SHIFT-UP SWITCH CONTINUITY CHECK. 
  1. Operate the + side of paddle shift assembly and hold it.
  2. Measure the resistance between the paddle shift assembly connector terminals.

    Terminals 

    No. 2 - No. 4: 

Is the resistance less than 10 Ω? Go to step . Replace the paddle shift assembly.
2 SHIFT-DOWN SWITCH CONTINUITY CHECK. 
  1. Operate the - side of paddle shift assembly and hold it.
  2. Measure the resistance between the paddle shift assembly connector terminals.

    Terminals 

    No. 2 - No. 3: 

Is the resistance less than 10 Ω? Go to step . Replace the paddle shift assembly.
3 CHECK SHIFT SWITCH INSULATION. 
  1. Do not operate the paddle shift assembly.
  2. Measure the resistance between the paddle shift assembly connector terminals.

    Terminals 

    No. 2 - No. 4: 

    No. 2 - No. 3:

Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more? Paddle shift assembly is normal. Replace the paddle shift assembly.

Replace the paddle switch if the inspection result is not within the standard value.
