Extension Case Oil Seal: Replacement
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Clean the transmission exterior.
- Remove the drain plug (ATF) and completely drain the ATF.CAUTION: Directly after the vehicle has been running or the engine has been long idle running, the ATF is hot. Be careful not to burn yourself.
- Perform replacement with a new gasket, and tighten the drain plug (ATF).
Tightening torque: 25 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.4 ft-lb)
- Remove the rear exhaust pipe and muffler. Refer to REMOVAL , Rear Exhaust Pipe. Refer to REMOVAL , Muffler.
- Remove the heat shield cover.
- Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to REMOVAL , Propeller Shaft.
- Using the ST, remove the oil seal.
ST 398527700 PULLER ASSY
- Using the ST, install the oil seal.
ST 498057300 INSTALLER
- Install the propeller shaft. Refer to INSTALLATION , Propeller Shaft.
- Install the heat shield cover.
- Install the rear exhaust pipe and muffler. Refer to INSTALLATION , Rear Exhaust Pipe. Refer to INSTALLATION , Muffler.
- Fill with ATF. Refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID .
- Bleed the air of control valve. Refer to AIR BLEEDING OF CONTROL VALVE .
- Check the level and leaks of the ATF. Refer to INSPECTION , Automatic Transmission Fluid.
