Fuel Filler Pipe: Removal

WARNING: Place "NO OPEN FLAMES" signs near the working area.

CAUTION: Be careful not to spill fuel.

Set the vehicle on a lift.
Release the fuel pressure. Ref. to RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE , PROCEDURE, Fuel.
Drain fuel. Ref. to DRAINING FUEL (WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR) , PROCEDURE, Fuel.
Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

Open the fuel filler lid, and remove the filler cap.
Remove the screws which secure fuel filler ring.

Remove the rear wheel RH.
Lift up the vehicle.
Remove the rear mud guard RH. Ref. to REMOVAL , Mud Guard.
Remove the rear sub frame. Ref. to REMOVAL , Rear Sub Frame.
Remove the bolts and nuts which hold fuel filler pipe on the body.

Disconnect the fuel filler hose (A) and evaporation hose (B).

Remove the fuel filler pipe to the underside of the vehicle.
