Fuel Filler Pipe: Removal
WARNING:
Place "NO OPEN FLAMES" signs near the working area.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to spill fuel.
- Set the vehicle on a lift.
- Release the fuel pressure. Ref. to RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE , PROCEDURE, Fuel.
- Drain fuel. Ref. to DRAINING FUEL (WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR) , PROCEDURE, Fuel.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
- Open the fuel filler lid, and remove the filler cap.
- Remove the screws which secure fuel filler ring.
- Remove the rear wheel RH.
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Remove the rear mud guard RH. Ref. to REMOVAL , Mud Guard.
- Remove the rear sub frame. Ref. to REMOVAL , Rear Sub Frame.
- Remove the bolts and nuts which hold fuel filler pipe on the body.
- Disconnect the fuel filler hose (A) and evaporation hose (B).
- Remove the fuel filler pipe to the underside of the vehicle.
