Fuel Pump: Removal
WARNING:
Place "NO OPEN FLAMES" signs near the working area.
CAUTION:
- Be careful not to spill fuel.
- When the fuel meter indication is higher than two third of the total, perform the work after draining the fuel not to spill the fuel.
NOTE:
Fuel pump assembly consists of fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel level sensor.
- Release the fuel pressure. <Ref. to RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE , PROCEDURE, Fuel. >
- Drain fuel. <Ref. to DRAINING FUEL (WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR) , PROCEDURE, Fuel. >
- Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
- Remove the rear seat.
- Remove the service hole cover.
- Remove the bolt (A).
- Push the grommet (B) down and remove the service hole cover.
- Disconnect the connector from fuel pump.
- Disconnect the quick connector, then disconnect the fuel delivery tube, fuel return tube, and jet pump tube. <Ref. to REMOVAL , Fuel Delivery, Return and Evaporation Lines. >
- Remove the nuts which install fuel pump assembly onto fuel tank.
- Remove the fuel pump assembly from the fuel tank.
