Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor: Installation

  1. Attach the hub to the rear tone wheel and attach the rear housing. <Ref. ASSEMBLY , Rear Axle. >
  2. Temporarily attach the rear ABS wheel speed sensor to the back plate.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to hit the ABS wheel speed sensor pole piece and tone wheel against adjacent metal parts during installation.

  3. Install the rear drive shaft to the rear housing and rear differential spindle. <Ref. INSTALLATION , Rear Axle. >
  4. Install the rear sensor harness on the rear trailing link.

    Tightening torque: 

    33 N.m (3.4 kgf-m, 24.6 ft-lb)

  5. Check the clearance of the sensor. <Ref. to SENSOR GAP , Inspection, Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor . > When the clearance is within standard values, tighten the ABS wheel speed sensor to the back plate at the specified torque.

    If clearance is outside of the standard value, readjust by using the spacer (Part No. 26755AA000).

    ABS wheel speed sensor gap standard value: 

    0.7 - 1.2 mm (0.028 - 0.047 in) 

    Tightening torque: 

    33 N.m (3.4 kgf-m, 24.6 ft-lb) 

    NOTE: Check the identification (mark) on the harness to make sure there is no warpage. (RH: White, LH: Yellow)
  6. After confirmation of the ABS wheel speed sensor clearance, connect the connector to the ABS wheel speed sensor.
  7. Connect the ground cable to the battery.
