BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

1 CHECK WARNING LIGHT. Check if the airbag warning light in combination meter comes on. |
Does the airbag warning light come on? |
Go to step 2. |
Perform the diagnosis according to trouble symptoms. |
2 CHECK INDICATION OF DTC.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Connect the Subaru Select Monitor to data link connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON, and the Subaru Select Monitor power switch to ON.
- Read the DTC. < Ref. to
OPERATION , Read Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). >
NOTE:
If the communication function of the Subaru Select Monitor cannot be executed normally, check the communication circuit. < Ref. to
COMMUNICATION FOR INITIALIZING IMPOSSIBLE , INSPECTION, Subaru Select Monitor. >
- Record all DTCs and freeze frame data.

Go to step 3. |
Go to "Airbag Warning Light Failure" < Ref. to
AIR-BAG WARNING LIGHT FAILURE

3 PERFORM DIAGNOSIS.
- Judge the possible cause from "List of Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)" < Ref. to
LIST OF DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . >
- Inspect using "Diagnostic Chart with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)".
- Correct the cause of trouble.
- Perform the clear memory mode. < Ref. to
OPERATION , Clear Memory Mode. >
- Perform the inspection mode. < Ref. to
PROCEDURE , Inspection Mode. >
- Read whether the DTC is displayed on the screen.
