Converter Case: Installation

Check the appearance of each component and clean.
Force-fit the new oil seal to the converter case with ST.

Install the differential assembly to the case. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Front Differential Assembly. >
Install the left and right side retainers. < Ref. to ADJUSTMENT , Front Differential Assembly. >
Install the new seal pipe to the converter case.

Install the new rubber seal to the converter case.

Apply proper amount of liquid gasket to the entire converter case mating surface.
Liquid gasket:

THREE BOND 1215 (Part No. 004403007)

Install the converter case assembly without damaging bushing and oil seal.
Tightening torque:

41 N.m (4.2 kgf-m, 30.4 ft-lb)

Insert inhibitor switch connector and transmission connector into stay.
Install air breather hose. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Air Breather Hose. >
Install the ATF cooler pipes. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , ATF Cooler Pipe and Hose. >
Install the oil charge pipe with O-ring. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Oil Charge Pipe. >
Insert the input shaft while turning lightly by hand and verify the protrusion amount.
Normal protrusion A:

50 - 55 mm (1.97 - 2.17 in)

Install the torque converter clutch assembly. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Torque Converter Clutch Assembly. >
Install the transmission assembly to the vehicle. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Automatic Transmission Assembly. >
