Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE . If any DTCs other than P1448 is present, diagnose those DTCs first. If no other DTCs are present, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch to off position. Check the fuel cap. Ensure fuel cap in securely tightened. If fuel cap is okay, go to next step. If fuel cap is not okay, secure fuel cap properly and test system operation.
  3. Check EVAP system for problems. Check for disconnection, blockage or leakage in hoses and pipes between fuel filler pipe and fuel tank. If EVAP system is okay, replace fuel tank pressure sensor. If EVAP system is not okay, repair as necessary and test system operation.
