Compulsory Valve Operation Check Mode

  1. Prepare Subaru Select Monitor.
  2. Connect diagnosis cable to Subaru Select Monitor.
  3. Insert diagnostic cartridge into Subaru Select Monitor.
  4. Connect test mode connector at the lower portion of instrument panel (on the driver's side), to the side of the center console box.
  5. CAUTION: Do not connect scan tools except for Subaru Select Monitor and OBD-II general scan tool.
    NOTE: For detailed operation procedure, refer to the SUBARU SELECT MONITOR OPERATION MANUAL.
  6. Connect Subaru Select Monitor to data link connector located in the lower portion of the instrument panel (on the driver's side). Connect diagnosis cable to data link connector.
  7. Turn ignition on (engine "OFF") and Subaru Select Monitor switch "ON".
  8. On the <Main Menu> display screen, select {2. Each System Check} and press [YES] key.
  9. On the <System Selection Menu> display screen, select {Engine Control System} and press [YES] key.
  10. Press [YES] key after displayed information of engine type.
  11. On <Engine Diagnosis> display screen, select {System Operation Check Mode} and press [YES] key.
  12. On <System Operation Check Mode> display screen, select {Actuator ON/OFF Operation} and press [YES] key.
  13. Select the desired compulsory actuator on <Actuator ON/OFF Operation> display screen and press [YES] key. See Fig 1 .
  14. Pressing [NO] key completes compulsory operation check mode. The display will then return to <Actuator ON/OFF Operation> screen.
