DESCRIPTION
(01) 2002 MY IMPREZA SEDAN VALET KEY FUNCTION
It has been brought to our attention that the vehicles "Valet" Key System does not operate as described in the Owner's Manual. It will open the trunk on the 2002 Model Year Impreza Sedan models (including WRX). However, it does operate properly for the Glove Box Lock.
At this point in time, we believe that this may affect all of the subject models. We are working on a plan to repair or replace the trunk lock cylinders on all affected vehicles sometime in the future. At the time of this writing, a correction in production was scheduled for August 20, 2001.
In the meantime, locks should not be replaced to address this issue.
