Removal & Installation

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Control module is located under front console box.
- Remove left lower trim panel from dash. Remove console box. Disconnect control module connectors. Remove and discard air bag control module Torx bolts. See Fig 1. Remove control module from vehicle.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten new Torx bolts in sequence to specification. See Fig 1. Ensure bolts are tightened to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Ensure all air bag system connectors are fully seated. After installation, activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Verify that the air bag system is functioning properly. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK .
