Removal & Installation: Strut: Removal
- Set the vehicle on the lift.
- Disconnect ground cable from battery.
- Lift-up the vehicle and remove the wheel.
- Depress brake pedal and hold it down using a wooden block etc.
- Remove union bolts from caliper. See Fig 1.
- Remove brake hose clamp and disconnect brake hose from strut. Attach brake hose to body using gum tape. See Fig 2.
- Scribe an alignment mark on the camber adjusting bolt which secures strut to housing.
- Remove bolt securing the ABS sensor harness. See Fig 3.CAUTION: While holding head of adjusting bolt, loosen self-locking nut.
- Remove 2 bolts securing housing to strut.
- Remove the 3 nuts securing strut mount to body. See Fig 4.
