DTC P1699: Engine Torque Control Cut Signal Circuit High Input (A/T)
- Perform test procedure. See TESTING PROCEDURE . Start and warm engine. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 24-pin TCM electrical harness connector B54. Turn ignition on. Using a DVOM, measure voltage by backprobing between 35-pin ECM electrical harness connector B134 terminal No. 31 (Yellow/Red wire on Forester, Impreza and Outback Sport; Yellow wire on Legacy and Outback) and good chassis ground point. See Figure. If voltage is less than 3 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not less than 3 volts, repair short to voltage in wiring between ECM and TCM. After repair, replace ECM. See ENGINE PERFORMANCE in appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .

Use a DVOM to measure voltage by backprobing between 35-pin ECM electrical harness connector B134 terminal No. 31 (Yellow/Red wire on Forester, Impreza and Outback Sport; Yellow wire on Legacy and Outback) and good chassis ground point while wiggling harness and connector at ECM. See Figure. If voltage does not change more than 10 volts while wiggling harness and connector, contact authorized Subaru dealership because probable cause is deterioration of multiple parts.
