DTC P0112: Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Circuit Low Input

  1. Perform test procedure. See TESTING PROCEDURE . Start engine. Using a scan tool, monitor intake air temperature sensor signal. Intake air temperature sensor signal value should be more than 248°F (120°C). If intake air temperature sensor signal value is more than 248°F (120°C), go to next step. If intake air temperature sensor signal value is not more than 248°F (120°C), check for poor contact in all connectors between intake air temperature and pressure sensor and ECM. See ENGINE PERFORMANCE in appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect 4-pin electrical harness connector from intake air temperature and pressure sensor. Turn ignition on. Using a scan tool, monitor intake air temperature signal. If intake air temperature sensor signal value is less than -40°F (-40°C), replace intake air temperature and pressure sensor. If intake air temperature sensor signal value is not less than -40°F (-40°C), locate and repair short to ground in wiring between ECM and intake air temperature and pressure sensor.
