DTC P0111: Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem

  1. Perform test procedure. See TESTING PROCEDURE . If DTC P0111 is only DTC set, go to next step. If any other DTCs exist, diagnose and repair those DTCs. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . Do not diagnose DTC P0111. Clear memory. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES . On Forester, Legacy and Outback models, validate repair by performing appropriate drive cycle. See DRIVE CYCLES . On Impreza and Outback Sport, perform verification procedure. See VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .
  2. Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature. Using a scan tool, monitor engine coolant temperature. If engine coolant temperature is between 167°F (75°C) and 203°F (95°C), replace intake air temperature and pressure sensor. If temperature is not between 167°F (75°C) and 203°F (95°C), check for DTC P0125.
