Water Pump: Removal
- Disconnect battery ground cable
- Lift-up the vehicle.
- Remove under cover.
- Drain engine coolant completely.
Refer to DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
- Disconnect connectors from radiator main fan (A) and sub fan (B) motors.
- Remove bolt which installs water by-pass pipe of oil cooler onto oil pump. (AT vehicles only)
- Disconnect radiator outlet hose (A) and heater hose (B) from water pump.
- Disconnect water by-pass hose (C). (AT vehicles only)
- Lower the vehicle.
- Disconnect over flow hose.
- Remove reservoir tank
- Remove radiator main fan and sub fan assemblies. Refer to RADIATOR MAIN FAN AND FAN MOTOR and RADIATOR SUB FAN AND FAN MOTOR .
- Remove V-belts. Refer to V-BELT .
- Remove timing belt. Refer to TIMING BELT ASSEMBLY .
- Remove automatic belt tension adjuster.
- Remove belt idler No. 2.
- Remove camshaft position sensor. Refer to CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR .
- Remove left-hand camshaft sprocket by using ST.
ST 499207100: CAMSHAFT SPROCKET WRENCH
- Remove tensioner bracket.
- Remove left-hand belt cover No. 2.
- Remove water pump.
