DTC P1142: Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem (Low Input)

Perform test procedure. See TESTING PROCEDURE . If DTC P1142 is only DTC set, replace throttle position sensor. If any other DTCs exist, diagnose and repair those DTCs. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . It is not necessary to diagnose DTC P1142. Clear memory. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES . On Forester, Legacy and Outback models, validate repair by performing appropriate drive cycle. See DRIVE CYCLES . On Impreza and Outback Sport, perform verification procedure. See VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .
