DTC P0106: Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem (Low Input)
- Perform test procedure. See TESTING PROCEDURE . If DTC P0106 is only DTC set, go to next step. If any other DTCs exist, diagnose and repair those DTCs. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . Do not diagnose DTC P0106. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .
- Check air intake system for holes, loose bolts and/or disconnected hoses. Repair air intake system as required and go to next step.
- Start and warm engine to coolant temperature greater than 140°F (60°C). Place shift lever in Park or Neutral. Turn A/C and all other accessories off. Using a scan tool, monitor intake manifold pressure sensor signal with ignition on and with engine idling. With ignition on, intake manifold pressure sensor signal value should be 21.65-31.50 in. Hg. At idle, intake manifold pressure sensor signal value should be 5.91-13.78 in. Hg. If values are as specified, go to next step. If values are not as specified, replace intake air temperature and pressure sensor. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .
- Using a scan tool, monitor throttle position sensor signal with throttle valve fully closed. If throttle position sensor signal value is equal to or less than 5% when throttle valve is fully closed, go to next step. If throttle position sensor signal value is not equal to or less than 5% when throttle valve is fully closed, adjust or replace TP sensor. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .
- Using a scan tool, monitor throttle position sensor signal with throttle valve fully open. If throttle position sensor signal value is equal to or greater than 85% when throttle valve is fully open, replace intake air temperature and pressure sensor. If throttle position sensor signal value is not equal to or greater than 85% when throttle valve is fully open, replace TP sensor. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE .
