Check Security Indicator Light Circuit

  1. Disconnect security control module harness connector. Ground harness connector terminal No. 9. See Figure . If security indicator light illuminates, replace security control module. See SECURITY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If security light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect connector from combination meter. Measure voltage between combination meter terminal No. 7 and ground. See Fig 1 . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, check harness for open circuits and shorts between combination meter and fuse.
  3. Measure resistance between combination meter harness connector terminal No. 1 and security control module connector terminal No. 9. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace combination meter printed circuit. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, check harness for open circuits and shorts between combination meter and security control module.
