Check Interrupt Relay Circuit

  1. Remove and check interrupt relay. See INTERRUPT RELAY  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace interrupt relay as necessary. If relay is okay, go to next step.
  2. Measure voltage between interrupt relay harness connector terminal No. 1 and ground. See Figure . If voltage is more than 10 volts when ignition switch is turned to START, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts when ignition switch is turned to START, check harness for open circuits between interrupt relay and ignition switch.
  3. Measure resistance between interrupt relay harness connector terminal No. 4 and security control module harness connector terminal No. 15. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace security control module. See SECURITY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, check harness for open circuits and shorts between interrupt relay and security control module.
