DTC P1146: Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem (High Input)

  1. Perform basic diagnostic procedure. See BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE  . If DTC P0107, P0108 or P1112 exist, diagnose and repair affected DTC. Do not diagnose P1146. If DTC P1146 is only DTC set, go to next step.
  2. Check air intake system for loose bolts, holes or disconnected hoses. Repair and replace defective components as needed. If air intake system is sound and free of leaks, go to next step.
  3. Start engine. Warm engine to above 140°F (60°C). Place transaxle in Neutral or Park. Turn A/C switch and all accessories off. Using scan tool, observe intake manifold pressure. Pressure should be 5.91-13.78 in. Hg at idle and 21.65-31.50. in. Hg with ignition on, engine off. If pressure is not within specification, replace intake air temperature sensor and pressure sensor. If pressure is within specification, go to next step.
  4. Using scan tool, observe throttle position sensor signal. Displayed value should be equal to or less than 5% when throttle is fully closed. If displayed value is not within specification, adjust or replace throttle position sensor. See ON-VEHICLE ADJUSTMENTS article. If displayed value is within specification, go to next step.
  5. Using scan tool, observe throttle position sensor signal. Displayed value should be equal to or more than 85% when throttle is fully open. If displayed value is not within specification, replace throttle position sensor. If displayed value is within specification, replace air temperature and pressure sensor. Clear memory and perform verification procedure. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  and VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
