Room Light Diagnostic Test

  1. Remove and visually inspect fuse No. 2 located in main fuse box. If fuse No. 2 is blown, replace fuse. If fuse No. 2 is not blown, go to next step.
  2. Remove and visually inspect room light bulb. If bulb is blown, replace bulb. If bulb is not blown, go to next step.
  3. Remove room light. Measure resistance between room light switch terminals at middle position. See Fig 1 . If resistance is less than one ohm, repair or replace room light. If resistance is greater than one ohm, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect connector from room light. Open any door. Measure voltage between room light connector terminal No. 2 and ground. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair wiring harness between room light and battery.
  5. Disconnect connector from keyless entry control module. Measure resistance between room light connector terminal No. 1 and keyless entry control module connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace keyless entry control module. See KEYLESS ENTRY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is greater than 10 ohms, repair wiring harness between room light and keyless entry control module.
