Function Test

Disconnect vacuum hose from actuator. Using a hand-held vacuum pump, apply 12 In. Hg of vacuum to actuator. Ensure cruise control cable moves smoothly and quickly and cruise control cable stroke is 1.38" (35 mm) with vacuum applied to actuator. If throttle does not fully open, replace actuator. If throttle fully opens, remove vacuum supply from actuator. If throttle does not close smoothly and quickly, replace actuator and valve assembly. If throttle closes, actuator is okay.
