Power Steering Pump: Reassembly

  1. Replace all "O" rings, seals and snap rings. Keep components clean and free of dust and oil. Grease oil seal and front body internal surfaces. Ensure front body is not damaged.
  2. Manufacturer recommends replacement of pump shaft. Replace parts as necessary. Install components in reverse order of disassembly. Install vanes in rotor with rounded ends toward cam ring. Tighten rear cover bolts in diagonal pattern to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Ensure pump shaft turns smoothly without excessive play.
