Steering Wheel: Removal

  1. Disconnect ground terminal from battery.
  2. Set tires to straight-ahead position.
  3. Remove airbag module. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
    WARNING: Always refer to "Air Bag System" before performing airbag module service (if so equipped). See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
  4. Remove steering wheel nut, and then draw out steering wheel from shaft using steering puller.
    NOTE: Make matching marks on steering wheel and steering column in advance.
