DTC P0121: Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem (High Input)

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition on. If DTC P0122 and/or P0123 exist for all but 2.2L and Legacy 2.5L M/T, diagnose and repair those DTCs. If DTC P0107, P0108, P0122 and/or P0123 exist for 2.2L and Legacy 2.5L M/T, diagnose and repair those DTCs. Do not diagnose DTC P0121. If DTC P0121 is only DTC set on 2.2L and Legacy 2.5L M/T, go to next step. On all except 2.2L and Legacy 2.5L M/T, replace TP sensor.
  2. Start engine. Observe scan tool display of intake manifold absolute pressure signal. If value is more than 15.75 in. Hg, replace intake manifold pressure sensor. If value is 15.75 in. Hg or less, replace throttle position sensor.
