DTC P1142: Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem (Low Input) - 2.2L & Legacy 2.5L M/T

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool and read DTCs. If DTC P0106, P0107, P0108, P0122 or P0123 exist, diagnose affected DTC. Do not diagnose P1142. If DTC P1142 is only DTC set, go to next step.
  2. Start engine. Using scan tool, observe intake manifold absolute pressure signal. If value is less than zero in. Hg, replace intake manifold absolute pressure sensor. If value is more than zero in. Hg, replace throttle position sensor.
