DTC P0123: Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Circuit High Input
- Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool. Start engine. Observe TP sensor output signal. If displayed voltage is more than 4.9 volts, go to next step. If displayed voltage is 4.9 volts or less, system has returned to normal. Check for poor connection between ECM and TP sensor connectors.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect TP sensor connector. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between ground and TP sensor connector terminal No. 2. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in wiring or poor connection between ECM and TP sensor connectors. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
- Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter connected to ground, measure voltage at TP sensor connector terminal No. 3. If voltage is more than 4.9 volts, repair short to voltage in wiring between ECM and TP sensor connectors. If voltage is 4.9 volts or less, replace TP sensor.
