Cruise Control Command Switch

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect cruise control command switch harness connector located on steering column. Turn off SET/COAST switch. Check resistance between switch harness connector terminals No. 1 and 2. See Fig 1 . If resistance is greater than one megohm, go to next step. If resistance is less than one megohm, replace cruise control command switch.
  2. Turn on RESUME/ACCEL switch. Check resistance between switch harness connector terminals No. 1 and 3. See Fig 1 . If resistance is less than 10 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 10 ohms or greater, replace cruise control command switch.
  3. Turn off RESUME/ACCEL switch. Check resistance between switch harness connector terminals No. 1 and 3. If resistance is greater than one megohm, perform DTC 14 and 22 tests. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM  . If resistance is less than one megohm, replace cruise control command switch.
