Cruise Control Command Switch: Removal

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery terminal. Wait 20 seconds before starting work. Remove lower steering column cover.
  2. Ensure air bag is deactivated. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Disconnect air bag harness connector below steering column. Disconnect combination switch harness connector.
  3. Set front wheels in straight-ahead position. Remove air bag module from steering wheel. Remove steering wheel. Remove steering column covers. Remove combination switch.
NOTE: DO NOT reconnect air bag connector at steering column until combination switch is securely installed.
