Function Test

  1. Turn engine off. Disconnect vacuum pump harness connector. Apply battery (+) power to terminal No. 2, and ground terminals No. 1, 3 and 4. See Fig 1 . If throttle does not fully open within 3 seconds, replace vacuum pump and valve assembly.
  2. If throttle fully opens in 3 seconds, remove ground from terminal No. 3. If throttle remains in position, go to next step. If throttle does not remain in position, replace vacuum pump and valve assembly.
  3. If throttle remains in position, remove battery (+) power from terminal No. 2. If throttle does not fully close in 3 seconds, check actuator. See ACTUATOR  under COMPONENT TESTS. If actuator is okay, replace vacuum pump and valve assembly.
