Remote Transmitter
- Ensure remote transmitter battery is okay. Operate remote transmitter. If transmitter operates normally, go to next step. If transmitter fails to operate or does not operate normally, go to step 6 .
- Insert ignition key into ignition switch. Ensure ignition switch is in LOCK position. Perform lock and unlock function using remote transmitter. If power door lock operates normally, system is okay. If power door lock does not operate normally, go to next step.
- Check fuse No. 22 (15-amp). Replace fuse and recheck system operation. If fuse is okay, disconnect keyless entry control module harness connector. Insert ignition key into ignition switch with switch in LOCK position. Check voltage between ground and keyless entry control module harness connector terminal No. 16. See Figure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If voltage is 10 volts or greater, replace keyless entry control module. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Disconnect key warning switch harness connector. Check voltage between ground and key warning switch harness connector terminal No. 2 (White wire). If voltage is 10 volts or greater, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair circuit between key warning switch and power supply.
- Check resistance between key warning switch harness connector terminal No. 1 (Yellow/Black wire) and keyless entry control module harness connector terminal No. 16. See Figure . If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace key warning switch. If resistance is 10 ohms or greater, repair circuit between key warning switch and keyless entry control module.
- Check for faulty ignition switch. Replace as necessary. If ignition switch is okay, replace keyless entry control module. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . After repairs, recheck system operation.
