DTC P0132: Front Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Circuit Range/Performance Problem (High Input) - IMPREZA & Legacy 2.2L (CALIFORNIA Emissions)

  1. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition on. If DTC P1130 or P1131 exist, diagnose and repair those DTCs. Do not diagnose DTC P0132. If DTC P0132 is only DTC set, go to next step.
  2. Start and ensure engine operating temperature is more than 160°F (70°C). Operate engine at 2000-3000 RPM for one minute. Observe front O2S output signal value. If value is .85-1.15, go to next step. If value is not as specified, go to step  4.
  3. Race engine between idle and 5000 RPM 5 times. Using scan tool, select LED operation mode. If rear O2S LED blinks, check for poor contact at front and rear O2S connectors. If LED does not blink, check rear O2S circuit.
  4. Check exhaust system for damage or loose components. Repair or replace exhaust system components as necessary. If exhaust system is okay, replace front O2S.
