DTC P1443 EVAP Vent Control Function Problem (2.2L IMPREZA & All Legacy Models)
- Connect scan tool. Retrieve DTC(s). If any DTC(s) other than P1443 exist, repair those DTCs first. If DTC P1443 is only code set, check the following:
- Clogging Of Air Filter
- Clogging Of Junction Pipe
- Clogging Of Vent Hose Between Air Filter & Junction Pipe
- Clogging Of Vent Hose Between Drain Valve & Air Filter
- Clogging Of Vent Hoses Between Canister & Drain Valve
See Fig 1. Repair as necessary. If no problem was found, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Connect test mode connector (behind left side of dash). Turn ignition on. Listen for clicking sound from drain valve. If clicking sound was heard, system is normal at this time. Check for intermittent connections. If no clicking was heard, replace drain valve.
