DTC P1423 (VCMSOL_Hi): Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit High Input
- Turn ignition on. Using DVOM connected to chassis ground, backprobe ECM connector terminal No. 35. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article. If voltage reading is 10 volts or more, go to next step. If voltage reading is less than 10 volts, check for poor contact in ECM connector. Repair as necessary. If terminal contacts are okay, replace ECM.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect purge control solenoid connector. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM connected to chassis ground, backprobe ECM connector terminal No. 35. If voltage is 10 volts or more, repair short in wiring between ECM connector and purge control solenoid connector and replace ECM. If voltage reading is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Check resistance between purge control solenoid terminals No. 1 and 2. If resistance is one ohm or less, replace purge control solenoid and ECM. If resistance is more than one ohm, check for poor contact in ECM connector. Repair as necessary. If terminal contacts are okay, replace ECM.
