Control Valve Body: Disassembly

  1. Remove shift solenoid assembly and duty solenoid "A" from upper valve body. See Figure . Remove duty solenoid "B" and bracket from lower valve body.
  2. Remove 27 upper-lower valve body bolts and 2 locating bolts. Separate valve body halves. Remove 9 steel balls from upper valve body. Remove orifice check valve, spring and filter from lower valve body. See Figure .
NOTE: During minor overhaul, complete disassembly and cleaning of valve body is not necessary. If any contamination is present in transmission assembly, completely disassemble valve body and thoroughly clean all components. See Figure . After reassembly, ensure smooth operation of all valves.
