DTC P0108 (P_SHI): Pressure Sensor Circuit High Input

  1. Connect SSM. Start engine. Set SSM function mode to F21. If displayed value is 140 kPa or less, go to next step. If displayed value is more than 140 kPa, go to step 8).
  2. Using DVOM connected to ground, backprobe ECM connector terminal No. 21. If voltage is more than 4.5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 4.5 volts or less, check while wiggling wiring and connector of ECM. If voltage changes, repair poor contact in wiring or ECM connector. If voltage remains 4.5 volts or less, replace ECM with known good replacement and retest.
  3. Check voltage at ECM connector terminal No. 26. If voltage reading is less than .2 volts, go to next step. If voltage reading is .2 volts or more, check SSM function mode 20. If reading changes while wiggling wiring and connector, repair poor contact or wiring. If reading does not change, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect pressure sensor connector. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between pressure sensor connector terminal No. 3 and chassis ground. If voltage is more than 4.5 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 4.5 volts or less, repair open circuit in wiring or poor contact at ECM or pressure sensor connector.
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM connector. Check resistance between ECM connector terminal No. 26 and pressure sensor connector terminal No. 2. If resistance is 1 ohm or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 1 ohm, repair open circuit in wiring or poor contact in ECM or pressure sensor connector.
  6. Check resistance between ECM connector terminal No. 20 and pressure sensor connector terminal No. 1. If resistance is 1 ohm or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 1 ohm, repair open circuit in wiring or poor contact in ECM and pressure sensor connector.
  7. Check pressure sensor connector. If connector has poor contact, repair connection. If contact is okay, replace pressure sensor.
  8. Turn ignition and SSM off. Disconnect pressure sensor. Turn ignition and SSM on. Set SSM to function mode F21 to display pressure sensor value. If value is more than 140kPa, repair short to power. If value is less than 140 kPa, replace pressure sensor.
