Main Switch System

  1. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between fuse No. 18 and ground. Voltage should be 10-13 volts.
  2. Remove main switch and disconnect harness connector. With ignition on, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 3 (Blue wire) at main switch harness connector. SeeFig 1 . Voltage should be 10-13 volts.
  3. To check function of main switch, measure resistance between main switch terminals No. 3 and 5. SeeFig 2 . Resistance should be less than 10 ohms with switch on and greater than one megohm with switch off.
  4. To check harness between main switch and control unit, reconnect harness connector. Turn ignition and main switch on. Measure voltage by backprobing between specified terminals and ground: Terminals No. 3 (Blue wire) and No. 5 (Green/Blue wire) at main switch harness connector and terminal No. 3 (Blue wire) and No. 4 (Green/Blue wire) at control unit harness connector. Voltages should be 10-13 volts. SeeFig 3 .
