DTC P0325 (Knock) - Knock Sensor Circuit Malfunction

NOTE: Refer to illustration for connector and terminal identification. See Figure -Figure .
  1. Turn ignition to OFF. Disconnect ECM connector. Measure resistance between ECM connector B84, terminal No. 30 and ground. If resistance is 700 k/ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is 400 k/ohms or less, go to step 3). If resistance is 400-700 k/ohms, go to step 4).
  2. Disconnect connector from knock sensor. Measure resistance between knock sensor connector E14, terminal No. 1 and ground. If resistance is less than 700 k/ohms or more, check and repair for open in harness between knock sensor connector and ECM connector, poor contact of knock sensor connector or poor contact in coupling, between knock sensor and ECM. If resistance is 700 k/ohms or more, ensure knock sensor installation bolt is secure. If installation bolt is loose, tighten securely. If installation bolt is secure, replace knock sensor.
  3. Disconnect connector from knock sensor. Measure resistance of harness between knock sensor connector E14, terminal No. 1 and ground. If resistance is 400 k/ohms or less, replace knock sensor. If resistance is more than 400 k/ohms, repair short in harness between knock sensor connector and ECM connector.
    NOTE: Harness between both connectors is shielded. Repair short circuit of harness together with shield.
  4. Connect ECM and knock connectors. Turn ignition to ON. Measure voltage between ECM connector B30, terminal No. 30 and ground. If voltage is less than 2 volts, repair poor contact in ECM connector. If voltage is 2 volts or more, circuit has returned to normal. Check for and repair any poor contact at knock sensor connector, ECM connector and coupling connector, between knock sensor and ECM.
