Component Disassembly & Reassembly: MAINSHAFT: Disassembly

1. Wrap tape around mainshaft splines. Remove oil seal and needle bearing. See Fig 1. Remove lock nut. Remove lock washer, insert stopper plate, sleeve and hub assembly, No. 2 synchro ring, 5th drive gear, and needle bearing.
2. Press off 5th needle bearing inner race, 5th gear thrust washer, ball bearing, 4th gear thrust washer, 4th drive gear, 5th hub and sleeve assembly, synchro ring, needle bearing, bearing inner race, 3rd drive gear, and 3rd-4th hub and sleeve assembly.

NOTE: Replace hubs and sleeves if necessary. Avoid disassembly of hubs, because they must engage at specific points. If disassembly is required, mark engagement point on splines beforehand.
