Manual Transmission

  1. If voltage does not exist in any of the following circuit tests, check wiring for opens or shorts, or replace faulty component.
  2. Turn ignition switch to START position. Check voltage at ignition switch "S" terminal (Black/Yellow wire). If battery voltage exists, check voltage at both Black/Yellow wire terminals of starter interlock relay.
  3. Interlock relay has a Blue, 4-terminal connector and is located below and to far left of EFC/PFI control unit. EFC/PFI control unit is located behind left side of instrument panel.
  4. Clutch switch, located at top of clutch pedal arm, grounds interlock relay Black/Blue wire, energizing interlock relay. Press and hold clutch pedal to floor. Check voltage at interlock relay Black/White wire terminal.
  5. If battery voltage exists, check voltage at starter solenoid "S" terminal (Black/White wire). If battery voltage exists at starter solenoid, start circuit is good. Problem is with starter.
