Retrieving Codes
- ABS system can store trouble codes when system fault is detected. To retrieve trouble codes, locate ABS control unit under right side of front passenger seat. Fold back carpet between door sill and seat to expose ABS control unit. See Figure and Figure .
- Drive vehicle at 19 MPH (30 km/h) for at least one minute. When system fault is detected, dash board warning light will illuminate. About 5-12 seconds later, ABS control unit LED light will start to flash if a trouble code is stored. With vehicle stopped and engine running, count LED flashes.
- ABS control unit can display one code at a time. If more than one code is stored, lowest number code will be displayed first. If necessary, drive vehicle after repairing first code to store and read any additional codes.Observe and record trouble code(s). See TROUBLE CODE DEFINITION table.
