Control Unit: Removal

Before proceeding, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Disable SRS. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Control unit is located under front console box. See Figure .
Remove driver-side lower trim panel from dash. Disconnect air bag module 3-pin Yellow connector at base of steering column. See Figure . Remove front console box. Disconnect control unit connectors (12-pin Yellow, 2-pin Blue and 2-pin Orange). See Figure . Remove 4 Torx mounting bolts in a counterclockwise sequence, staring with left rear. Remove control unit.
