Shim Selection Examples

If LD2-LD1 is less than .002", use new shim whose thickness is same as that (hereinafter called "old shim") used on secondary side of old side case.

If LD2-LD1 is equal to or greater than .002", but less than .006", use a new shim .004" (.20 mm) thinner than old shim. If old shim is .004" (.10 mm) thick, a shim need not be used.

If LD2-LD1 is equal to or greater than .006", but less than .010", use a new shim .008" (.20 mm) thinner than old shim.

If LD1-LD2 is less than .002", use new shim whose thickness is same as that used on secondary side of old side case.

If LD1-LD2 is equal to or greater than .002", but less than .010", use a new shim .004" (.10 mm) thicker than old shim.

If LD1-LD2 is equal to or greater than .006", but less than .010", use a new shim .008" (.20 mm) thicker than old shim.
