Stall Test: Notes

  1. Ensure levels of engine oil, coolant and ATF are correct. Warm engine completely. Install tachometer in a place visible from passenger compartment. Chock front and rear of all wheels and apply parking brake.
  2. Shift selector lever to "D" range. Forcefully depress brake pedal and slowly depress accelerator pedal to full throttle. DO NOT  hold throttle open longer than 5 seconds to obtain steady gauge reading. After each stall test, move shift selector lever to "N" range and idle engine for at least one minute to allow fluid to cool.
