Hydraulic System Pressure Test

  1. Check fluid level. Disconnect high pressure line at pump. Connect Pressure Gauge (925711000) between shutoff valve and pump. See Fig 1 . Open shutoff valve.
  2. Check fluid level. Start engine and turn steering wheel lock-to-lock several times to expel air from system.
NOTE: DO NOT hold steering wheel at lock position or shutoff valve closed for more than 5 seconds, or system damage may occur.
  3. With shutoff valve open, check system pressure. Pressure should be 142 psi (10 kg/cm2 ) or less. Close shutoff valve and check pump relief pressure. Pressure should be 853-1067 psi (60-75 kg/cm2 ).
  4. With shutoff valve open, turn steering wheel left-to-right to check working pressure. Pressure should be 853-1067 psi (60-75 kg/cm2 ).
