Steering Pump Pressure
- Attach Pressure Gauge (925711000 ) and Adapters "A" and "B" (926210000 and 926220000 ) between pump and high pressure line. Ensure gauge is on pump side of valve. See Fig 1 .
- With engine idling and valve OPEN, pressure should be as specified in STEERING PUMP PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS table. If pressure is not within specification, check for flattened, leaking or blocked lines.
- With engine idling and valve CLOSED, pressure should be as specified in STEERING PUMP PRESSURE SPECIFICATIONS table. See Fig 2 . If pressure is not as specified, check for faulty relief valve, fluid leak inside pump or excessive wear of vane mechanism in pump.
CAUTION:
DO NOT leave valve closed or steering wheel at full lock for more than 5 seconds. Pump damage could occur.
