Control Valve Body: Removal

  1. Remove oil pan and gasket. Disconnect transaxle control cable end from pulley of control valve body. Remove oil strainer and "O" ring. Remove connector from bracket and disconnect connector. Remove snap ring and "E" ring. Disconnect modulator connecting rod. Loosen bolt. While turning plate, remove plate and modulator connecting rod as a unit.
  2. On 4WD model, remove transfer control pipe. On all models, install Control Valve Holder (499205600) to control valve body. See Figure. Install by hooking small end of holder across terminal nut of pressure regulator spring guide and inserting big end into place by aligning with center bolt on side of control valve. Remove control valve body and holder as a unit. DO NOT  lose control valve pin which may be left on case side.
