System Controls

A pod mounted control assembly houses 5 control buttons. Engine vacuum is supplied to control assembly and passed to appropriate heater mode actuator as buttons are depressed.

XT Coupe and XT6 have temperature control and fan speed control levers mounted in center console. Other models have a temperature control lever and rotating fan speed knob mounted in dash next to mode control panel.

On both models, when buttons on mode control panel are depressed for defrost, "HEAT", "BI-LEVEL", "A/C-MAX" or "OFF", air will exit vents as indicated on control buttons. The "A/C-MAX" button is used for ventilation on vehicles without air conditioning.
