Auxiliary Air Valve
- Pinch hose connecting air intake duct and auxiliary air valve and observe how engine speed changes. When engine is cold, engine idle speed should drop as hose is pinched. When engine is hot, a reduction in engine speed should be within 100 RPM.
- If engine speed will not drop to idling RPM smoothly, heater circuit or heater power supply circuit may be faulty. Check resistance value of auxiliary air valve.
- Disconnect connector of auxiliary air valve and measure resistance between 2 terminals. Resistance value must be other than zero and infinity. If resistance is zero or infinity, replace auxiliary air valve.
- Check source voltage. Disconnect the connector of the auxiliary air valve, and check voltage on the harness side. If the voltage is zero or lower than 12 volts, check the harness and connector.
